QuakeSOS will use the entered data from application users for messages concerning the application topics (important updates, new versions, data confirmations, heavy earthquakes notifications, earthquake related events, etc. ) and to send Test, Help or Safe messages originating from the registered user to the people he entered himself as his friends and/or family. These messages will be sent by the QuakeSOS servers.
As QuakeSOS is a free application and as we are dependent from third party sponsoring, QuakeSOS has the right to send on a very limited basis messages from a limited number of sponsors. Data entered by users will never be given to third party companies.

By installing the application, the registered user accepts the mentioned use of his data. In case he objects against these rules we urge the user to delete the application from his Smartphone.

The QuakeSOS application is based on earthquake information distributed by various sources. The position of the QuakeSOS users will be located using the GPS coordinates registered by the iPhone or iPad 3G built-in GPS. When using devices without a GPS, like iPod's, Wifi-only iPad or First Generation iPhones, the best alternative signals (wifi, wimax, etc) will be used. They will of course be far more inaccurate than GPS signals. The technical parts of the iPhone, iPad and/or iPod are consumer oriented devices and thus not scientifically accurate.

iCapps, the builder of the QuakeSOS application can never be held responsible for inaccurate GPS or other location signals, malfunction of the device, downtime of the communication server or eventual malfunctioning of the application. As QuakeSOS is based on communication in between the iPhone, iPod and/or iPad and our servers, iCapps cannot be held responsible if communications fail. The application has been built to help victims of earthquakes as much as possible. QuakeSOS may include hyperlinks to third-party content, advertising or websites. You acknowledge and agree that iCapps is not responsible for and does not endorse any advertising, products or resources made available through such websites. When you submit content to QuakeSOS you grant QuakeSOS an irrevocable, worldwide, royalty free license to publish, display, modify, distribute and syndicate your content worldwide. You confirm and warrant that you have the required authority to grant the above license to QuakeSOS.
